On the 17th September, Rob Atkin and I (Maire Tejani) went off to Ghana to continue the project with the money we had raised in the last few months. At Heathrow, our luggage was so over the limit due to us taking some tools to workers in the village of Aziedukope in the Volta Region of Ghana. Update from Ghana
This weekend Maire Tejani – Founder of Yaarah Schools returned from a great trip in Ghana. She travelled with another member of the Yaarah Schools Team Rob Atkin, who will be remaining in Ghana for the next 6 weeks.
While there, they helped begin the building of another three classrooms, sorted orders for tables, doors, and chairs for the classrooms and much more!
Community spirit comes alive at FUSIONITE
Nayo Hunt a long standing friend and supporter of Yaarah Schools gives her take on FUSIONITE 2010!
Yaarah Schools first major entertainment and fundraising event, FUSIONITE, went underway on Monday 6th September proving to be a successful night filled with fun, fashion and good vibes.
Friends, family and supporters turned out to support the event and enjoy a show case of exclusive live fashion, entertainment from this generations freshest wordsmiths, vocalists and DJs and of course wholesome African Cuisine. Radio presenter Remel London hosted the night.
As a spectator (and a friend of one of the Yaarah Schools team members) I was very impressed by all of the hard work and perseverance that went in to make the night a success. Read more >>
