A word of thanks from Ghana!

Below is the message sent to the Yaarah Schools team from the Bright Badasu the Headteacher of the Aziedukope Primary School:
Greetings from the Chiefs, elders, teachers and the pupils and the entire community of Aziedukope. We say thank you so much for the great job you have started ie building classrooms for the less privilage of which you have started with two which are currently being used by the KG and the primary one.
We say thank you the Yaarah School team, Neil, John and all who donated in diverse way for the start of the project.
School re-opened in Ghana on the 11th may 2010 academic year. Class have been in progress for about eight weeks now with the kindergateen and the primary one pupils moving in to the two new classroom with broad and beaming smiles.
Since they no longer have to close classes when the weather is unfavourable or taking their tables and chairs to and from everyday which use to be the order of the day before the new classrooms were built.
It is a spectacle seeing especially the kindergateen class with their toys and educational materials with the wall chants and teaching and learning materials hanging permanently on the walls.
The kids are so enthused about comming to school each day and every day of the week since they can now learn by manipulating teaching aids at that age in a childs development according to Piget Children at the manipulative stage and need to play with objects to come up with their own ideas about scenes around them. They do this knowing full well they have a roof over their heads.
The entire teaching staff have been gingered to work since we know our school(work place) will soon see facelift and will no longer be referred to as a village school or a school with classes under tress which sometimes demorilise us especially among other collegues teachers who have nice classroom when ever we meet at meetings both at the circiut level district level.
The community have also decided to help the school by cultivating part of the school land into vegetable and cassava which will serve as ameans of income to the school and also be used as a pratical field for for the pupil to teach them of basic method in farming.
The community is working feverichly to get the land ploughed for the to take off.
On the whole I can authoritatively say Yaara School has brought a whole new life to the community as a whole and the life of the pupils in the school in particular.
Thank you,
Bright Badasu (Headteacher)
