Determination…!

The theme for May is DETERMINATION.  Diana, the girl in the picture above is one of the many children in villages around the world who epitomises determination.  Every morning after doing her daily chores she carries her table on her head and her chair on her shoulder and comes to school.  For her going to school is not an option its the only way she can ensure she grows up to be a nurse, her dream job.  ‘It is hard to carry my desk and chair to school but I want to learn. We don’t have enough desks or chairs in the school so I just bring my own.  This means I don’t have to fight for a seat, I can just get straight to learning my books.  If I don’t try hard I won’t do well. So if I have to carry my desk and chair to school I will do it’  For Diana and her classmates the only obstacle stopping them to doing well is themselves and so as a result they are determined to do whatever they can to ensure they get to school and have the opportunity to learn.
