Kicking Yaarah Schools into the minds of many more…!

So last Sunday saw the Charity Football Tournament in aid of Yaarah Schools take place at The Pavilion. It seemed almost destined to be a great day as the sun was up from early on and stayed shining throughout the day! With a £250 prize, 16 teams and a lot of pride to defend the day was bound to be full of emotion and certainly lived up to expectations.
After the group stages, we were down to 8 teams and many teams used the break to buy some of the food on offer which included rice and chicken and various snacks and drinks. The final between Wilsden Constantine and Madem was very close and ended 1 – 0 to Wilsden Constantine; with the winning goal being scored in the last two minutes of the match! Simon Noel, the goal scorer had quick enough feet to get pass several tackles to finally get the ball in the back of the net.
Whilst the day was full of fun and competition it was important to remember the reason we were all there, to raise awareness about the aims Yaarah Schools to ‘Create Classrooms’ for village children around the world starting with the Adaklu Aziedukope Primary School in Ghana.
Many thanks to all those that got involved from the promotion of the event to attending the event to helping clear up at the end of the event. A special thanks to Supa and his team from the Pavilion for their hospitality, Junior Jimbah and Andrew Mensah for donating their time to referee and Blanchard Campbell the official photographer for the event. All the pictures of the event can be found on the Facebook fan page.
