Do YOU have the courage to follow through?

Yaarah Schools theme for February is COURAGE which follows on nicely from January’s theme of DREAMS.  So you have a dream but do you have the courage to follow it through or is yours going to be one of the many than don’t get further than simply being said.  My good friend Tope Ajiboye recently reminded me that “a graveyard is full of ingenious ideas that were never explored….don’t let your dreams die with you, have the courage to do something about it today.”

When it comes to failure the most important thing is how you choose to deal with the aftermath. Do you give up because you can’t deal with another dose of failure? Or do you look at what went wrong and try and fix that problem, therefore taking a step closer to your goal. Michael Jordan once said “I failed and failed and failed which is why I succeed”.  He understood that it was okay to fail as long as you have the courage to see where you went wrong and try to ensure that the same mistake is not repeated.

The inventor of light bulbs, Thomas Edison had to fail 99 times before on the 100^th attempt getting it right, and thankfully he kept trying if not it could be a very different world we live in.

Had the Wright Brothers not followed through their dream of flying from one place to another would we be flying across the world to see loved ones? Had Alexandra Bell not followed his dream that speech could be transferred wirelessly would we be using telephones to each other?  Let’s find the courage to do the things we really wish to do.I leave you with a quote from Nelson Mandela:
